Economic: The invention of the automobile caused a need for clothing to travel in–dust coats, wind shield hats, glasses.

Political: WW1

Social: The Women’s Suffrage Movement stirred the desire in women to have the right to vote. Involving fashion, they wanted to combat legislation that wanted to enforce the mandatory wearing of corsets and a hemline no shorter than 1 inch off the ground.
