Back in September 2011, when Darling online launched, we published short descriptions of each of our personas to help our readers learn the heart behind each one. Since we have been active for almost one year, and have now published a print issue, we wanted to re-introduce them again. We hope you enjoy meeting them or getting reacquainted!
Dreamers are those folks who sip coffee with unkempt hair and twiddle a pencil over a well-worn journal. There is a certain freedom and mystery in their step, and they exude an energy that intrigues those around them to get a peek into the daily story they write.
If not an obvious one on the outside, most women are dreamers on the inside. We daydream about the past, imagine lovely things for the future, and constantly long for moments that light us up with wonder and joy. Our hearts, minds and souls are so intertwined and complex that we often become overwhelmed by deep feelings—fear, anxiety, depression, love or hate—sometimes all at the same time.
The Dreamer sees these deep places as being closely knitted with the spiritual, and believes that everything has a purpose and deeper meaning—that even though we are holistic beings tangibly rooted on this planet, we cannot forget that this world is infused with the spiritual. Believing in a God who fashioned all the beauty she admires in nature, she finds His creative essence built into her very fiber, and knows her questions and doubts are more than allowed—they are acknowledged as a core aspect of her faith.
Imagination and creativity are intrinsically valuable gifts given to all of us. In centuries past, every woman was a master of the arts. As part of daily life, women were encouraged and taught to write poems and stories, draw, paint, and even play the piano, act, sing, or read aloud theatrically for dinner guests. Although many women now engage in these activities in their own modern way, The Dreamer believes these disciplines are a lost art of womanhood that must be revived.
Join to revive your inner artist and embrace issues of the heart to grow and discover truth that will set you free to thrive and create beauty that brightens the world.
“All meaningful and lasting change starts first in your imagination and then works its way out. Imagination is more important than knowledge.” –Albert Einstein
