the morning sun and midnight stars are fading
into the sea, wide and warm and waiting

there’s a flower in my hand
will it make you understand
this shimmering summer

come jump the fence and walk the path to me
we’ll brave the thorns that keep the blackberries

run a mile to the shore
will you see what this was for
this shimmering summer

all the fireflies will keep you
golden

the glory fills the sky this time of year
and I can’t bear the thought of you not being near

to watch your soul unfurl
and soak up this new world
