Happy Valentines Week! I love celebrating this holiday, sometimes its sweet and other times it’s just bitter sweet!
This month’s mini mix features some brand new tunes I couldn’t be more excited to share. Wherever you are in life and in love, there is sure to be something to hit home on this collection of love and not-so-in-love songs.
“She Lit A Fire” by Lord Huron
An absolute favorite song and record from 2012, this warm & soulful track is sure to stick with you long after your first listen
“Tree To Grow” by The Lone Bellow
Haven’t heard of The Lone Bellow yet? Give it just a few days. This fierce trio is is taking the world by storm, one gorgeous harmony at a time.
“Emmylou” by First Aid Kit
This song was named one of the 50 best songs of 2012 by Rolling Stone. A sweet swedish folk duo, these two know how to make your heart swoon and ache all at once.
“Columbia” by Local Natives
Local Natives have branched off quite a bit from their debut album, yet they could not have chosen a better direction. This song begs you to also ask the question “Am I loving enough?”
“Pull Me Down” by Mikky Ekko
Watch the Grammy’s this past Sunday? Mikky Ekko accompanied miss Rihanna on stage at the awards to perform her song “Stay”. Mikky’s original song will be nothing short of a breathe of fresh air to your ears. Be prepared to feel like you can’t get enough of him.
“Valentine” by Jessie Ware & Sampha
Jessie Ware is simply stunning. Her appropriately and ironically titled track “Valentine” is a pretty and airy little tune that shows off her unique style and approach to song writing.

I love that you included Emmylou! I’m playing it in a show for a Valentine’s banquet this weekend. Just found a killer hippy-esque dress for the occasion. Gonna be channeling some Johanna + Klara.
